Please describe the project objective(s).

The Cambria County Conservation district is looking to complete additional habitat improvement structures at Glendale Lake, Cambria County. We will be working alongside the Department of Conservation of Natural Resources(DCNR), Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission(PFBC), Friends of Prince Gallitzen State Park, and multiple local Bass Clubs. The main objective is to prevent shoreline erosion by installing PFBC shoreline stone framed deflectors. This plan will also build submerged fish habitat improvement structures , riparian Plantings, and felled shoreline trees. This project funding will help us leverage additional funding to complete these large scale improvements

Please describe the project methods. Will the product be used in conjunction with existing habitat restoration efforts on the reservoir? Will the product supplement natural brush, rock, or other materials being added to the reservoir?

This partnership will contract PFBC construction crew to complete the shoreline improvement structures at various sites at the lake. These devices will restore areas that have been degraded by foot traffic and wind/wave action. This project will likely involve a significant shoreline project, a volunteer scale project, and an every other year tree felling project. We will also plant riparian trees and shrubs in areas that could be improved with riparian plantings

Will state fish and wildlife agency staff be directly involved in the project? How so (planning, site selection, participation in installation)? Is there an associated lake or habitat management plan that states the need for structural habitat enhancement?

This project is part of PFBC management plan. All permits and approval have been granted for this project. This plan also follows DCNR's resource management plans. The planning, site selection, and participation were all coordinated between the conservation district, PFBC, and DCNR. The Department of Environmental Protection has also been a huge supporters since it goes along with their mission for this watershed

List the species that the project is expected to benefit:

Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Perch, pike, musky, and various minnows. This project will basically help all aquatic organisms since we will improve overall water quality

How do you plan to conduct outreach and advertise the project? (Examples: on-site signage, press releases, websites, message boards)

PFBC and DCNR will promote it in on facebook and on their other media platforms. The local newspaper usually does either an article or news event on the project.
